This is the unboxing of the Nreal Light Development Kit! It can now be pre-ordered from the Nreal website for $1199.
The Nreal Light Devkit includes everything developers need to build their own AR apps for the upcoming Nreal Light app ecosystem. The Nreal Light glasses themselves of course but also a compute unit, an Android smartphone without screen that will supply the glasses with power and content.
As you can tell from the unboxing video, I really liked the quality of the kit. It all comes to you in a high quality hard case that reminded me of the the one supplied with the HoloLens 2, just that the whole package is way smaller.
Next to the glasses and the compute unit, you will also get magnetic lens frames for all those users who would normally need to wear glasses in the headset. These frames can be brought to the optician and you will need to have your prescription lenses put into them.
Overall I am impressed with the kit and you will hear more about my impressions of the device in the upcoming review of the Nreal Light Devkit.
