Pico Neo 2 Eye Unboxing & First Impressions

In this video I have unboxed the Pico Neo 2 Eye and checked it out for the very first time.

The Pico Neo 2 Eye is a Quest competitor for business applications. The device is a standalone VR headset, so there is no need for a PC to run this. Just as the Quest, it is also tracked with 6 degrees of freedom and comes with 2 controllers that are tracked electromagnetically. This “Eye” version also includes Tobii eye tracking and costs $899. The version without eye trackig is priced at $699.

My first impressions have been very positive. The 4k LCD panel looks incredible and better than most PCVR headsets that are out on the market right now. It’s a single 3840 * 2160p display, so unfortunately there is no manual IPD adjustment.

Controller tracking worked fine in this first short test but I will definitely have to find out how well it works in applications.

One exciting feature that I have not yet given a try is the streaming feature. The device can run SteamVR content wirelessly via a standard 5Ghz wifi connection. So lots of interesting things yet to try!

Have your say!
