Sources: Valve Planning 135° VR Headset Bundled With ‘Knuckles’ Controllers And Half-Life VR

 

Images of a prototype VR headset with a Valve logo visible on the circuit board leaked on the image sharing website imgur. Our independent sources tell us these are in fact prototypes for an upcoming Valve HMD.

We’ve also heard the field of view will be 135° with “Vive Pro resolution.” It may also come bundled with ‘Knuckles’ controllers as well as a Half-Life based VR game that could be a prequel rather than the much-anticipated Half-Life 3.

  1. I’m really excited for the valve headset. For me valve always have a good name as their products are always released polished and I see nothing different happening with this. Also, because the company is so big hopefully they can push VR more. Also big competition with Facebook could be a good thing to make companies innovate more.

  2. I don’t see any cables coming out of the HMDs in any of the shots, so could this have wireless build in ? Maybe the slot at the front is for the battery? I guess the other options would be that they are not fully assembled or that’s an all-in-one Headset, but I think the later is very unlikely.

  3. Good timing. Ill wait with my pimax preorder now. Im still a Rift User so im happy with any better Specs for my new VR-Headset. If theres really an upcoming Valve Headset, i hope theyre gonna release it 2019.
